Original Ocean Sleepwear 3-Layer Sleeping System

This waterproof sleeping bag is designed for round the world sailors, and ocean racing - it is great for the Southern Ocean, North Atlantic and the Western Approaches to the English Channel and with the inner layer stripped out it is equally good in warmer latitudes.

The waterproof breathable outer shell protects 2 warm fibre-pile insulating layers. The layers work together and with a strong "burstable" central zip, entry and exit from this bag is fast! Polyester fibre pile is the best performing insulation to have wet at sea, it is virtually as warm wet as it is when dry and it dries quickly. The zips, protected by a storm flap, can be opened both top and bottom to let your feet breathe. The extra generously cut "mummy" shape makes finding a comfortable sleeping position possible even in a big sea!

Many thousands of nautical miles sailing have gone into the design of this waterproof marine sleeping bag. While the Volvo Ocean Race bag is the biggest, this is the most practical design when space is limited and transport to and from boats is a factor. Here is the detailed specification:

Protective Shell: Zipping directly onto the outer insulation to ensure no movement or cold spots, the durable outer shell is made from 4oz Exeat Fabric providing a tough and durable barrier to moisture. Treated with a breathable fluorocarbon coating and fully tape-sealed to prevent wicking through stitch holes and provided with a full length flap to prevent water ingress through the zip. Outer Insulation:
Made from 10mm Dense Weave Pile providing a luxurious feel while keeping an insulation layer of air next to the skin. Generous 10cm shoulder baffle to reduce heat loss - Weight 1300g

Inner Insulation:
Made from 10mm Dense Weave Pile and attached to the outer layer by Velcro, adding extra insulation when the going gets tough. Generous 10cm shoulder baffle to reduce heat loss - Weight 1050g

Removable Pillow Pocket:
Comfortable poly-cotton pillowcase, can easily be removed, washed and dried, stopping the build up of salt from your wet hair. The added advantage is that clothes can be stuffed inside to provide additional support, as a pillow - Weight 100g

More design detail:
A Velcro rolling-strap allows the bags to be rolled away when not in use. The hanging strap at the foot is for securing the bag when it is aired on deck. Ocean Sleepwear Bags come with two stuff sacs, one large for the whole system, one small to store the inner bag when not in use, of course both stuff sacks make useful storage when not in use!
